Today we headed 20 minutes outside  Galle to the seaside town of Koggala to catch a glimpse of one of Sri Lanka’s iconic scenes, the stilt fishermen of the southern coast. In water about chest deep and protected by a breakwater, the fishermen sit on stilts that they’ve planted before. See the stilt fisherman in today’s photo gallery.

DOHA, Qatar – Leaving Damascus and Syria for Sri Lanka we jetted southeast heading for the Arabian Gulf. Our transition from Damascus to Doha was bizzare. Destroyed by the Israeli military during Israel’s occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights, Syria has left the rubble intact as a reminder to all of Israel’s military ferocity.
