One night in Bangkok
BANGKOK, Thailand – The popular book (and later movie) “The Beach” describes Bangkok’s Khao San Road as “the centre of the backpacking universe.” See it all in today’s photo gallery.
Delhi in a day
DELHI, India – After two weeks on the road from Mumbai we arrived in the final destination of our mini-tour of the Indian sub-continent: Delhi, the nation’s capital. Orderly and clean, Delhi defied the characteristics of most big Indian cities that we’ve seen. We spent the morning of our first full (and final) day here exploring the spread of government buildings near the city center, starting here at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the presidential palace. See it all in today’s photo gallery.
Coming out in Delhi

DELHI, India – The events we came across today in Delhi gave us a glimpse of the issues that the burgeoning country will have to tackle as its population grows ever more affluent and expects the same freedoms afforded to their counterparts in the west. See it all in today’s photo gallery.
The stunning Taj Mahal
AGRA, India – There’s sight seeing, and then there’s seeing the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is the mother of all tourist attractions. The image of the mausoleum and its sparkling reflection have been immortalized by writers, singers, photographers and directors the world over. Add us to the to that crowded list of fans. Even though you’ve seen the structure countless times in two dimensions, meeting it in person will leave you in awe. See it all in today’s photo gallery.
The monkey palace
JAIPUR, India – We’ll be blunt. We can’t get enough of monkeys. Our brothers from another mother are fascinating to observe and offer countless hours of entertainment. So when we heard about Galta, the Monkey Palace located three kilometers east of Jaipur, we knew we’d have to make a pilgrimage there to commemorate our love of primates. The Blue City
JODHPUR, India – An urban sea of indigo-washed buildings, Jodhpur in the Indian state of Rajasthan certainly earns its name as “The Blue City.” Sitting on an arid swath of land near the Thar Desert bordering Pakistan, the blue cubist outpost makes for an interesting contrast between man, beauty, squalor, and the natural setting. See it all in today’s photo gallery.
Rajasthan

RAJASTHAN, India – Departing Udaipur early, we set out on a full day of travel through the heart of Rajasthan to “The Blue City” of Jodhpur. For a bargain price, we chartered a car to take us from Udaipur to Jodhpur, including stops at two of Rajasthan’s most stunning landmarks: the hilltop fort of Kumbalgarh and the Jain temples of Ranakpur. See it all in today’s photo gallery.
The Monsoon Palace
UDAIPUR, India – Shortly before dusk, we headed a few miles out of town to Sajjangarh, also known as the “Monsoon Palace,” the former residence of the region’s royal family that sits high on a hill overlooking Udaipur and provided us a stunning vantage point of the surrounding valley. See it all in today’s photo gallery.
The people of Rajasthan
UDAIPUR, India – The people of Rajasthan, sporting colorful saris, thickly wrapped turbans, and ear-to-ear smiles, are as compelling a reason to visit this Indian state as its wonderful sights. See it all in today’s photo gallery.
Udaipur at night
UDAIPUR, India – Rolling into India’s most “romantic” city on a late night bus, our only glimpse of Udaipur was a late night tease of what the city had in-store for us. See it all in today’s photo gallery.
