Dealing with jet-lag induced grogginess, and a 5:30 a.m. torrential rain wakeup call, there was admittedly at least one soul on the LongJaunt team that thought today's trip may be a bust. Fortunately, he was proven terribly wrong. Stunning in both its concentration in wildlife and proximity to the bustling streets of the city, Nairobi National Park is a spectacular introduction to Kenya. Hitting the road just before 6, we rush to the park in Benard's uncle's matatu mini-bus, a mere 20 minutes from the center to catch the animals at the prime viewing period in the morning.
