Just when grueling negotiations among Lebanese political factions looked like they were going to fall through, an 11th hour agreement was reached that gave the Shia Muslim political party/social services provider/militia Hezbollah veto power in the Lebanese parliament and pushed the election of Christian General Michel Sulieman into the presidency. Also part of the agreement, a Hezbollah tent camp that strangled downtown business for more than 18 months was brought down.
