Mounted police parol the parks around the palace on horseback. Police presence in the city is very heavy in the tourist and business areas; nearly every street corner in the historic district has three or four officers. We've found the city to be relatively safe, using our judgement as a guide, and are a bit wary to agree with the rumors that Mexico City is a dangerous town.
