Somewhere during the shave, Thushan had his first solo conversation in Spanish (he embarrassingly doesn't know a lick of it). With his beard shaved off, only the stubble on his upper lip remained. "Esto tambien?" the barber asked, wondering if Thushan wanted to shave the mustache off too. "Si," he replied, only realizing afterward that in Mexico, where half the men have them, he could actually get away with a mustache. Maybe next time.
