Located in the Central Valley of Costa Rica, the city is the hub of the nation. While we quickly learned that the city itself doesn't have much to offer, we found it a good jumping off point for other locations. The beach is a three-hour bus ride from here, the rain forest and volcanoes are less than an hour away.
