Disoriented after an 18-hour bus ride (our worst ride yet), we arrived in São Paulo, Brazil's largest city. With Portuguese being the local language, Brian's fluent Spanish was a serviceable bridge. He was able to convey general ideas and comprehend most statements reasonably well. Thushan's rudimentary Spanish stock phrases and slight comprehension went straight out the window.
