Our meeting with Hyldon gave the singer an opportunity to recap and reflect upon a professional music career of nearly 50 years. Born and raised in the interior of the northeastern state of Bahia, Hyldon moved to Rio as a teenager and began picking up studio session recording gigs through his older cousin as a backing guitarist for some of Rio's legendary singers, including Wilson Simonal.
