Settling in Salvador

On Salvador's Atlantic coast, a statue of Jesus sits atop Morro do Cristo (Hill of Christ), where he watches over Farol da Barra beach. The beach is named after the lighthouse on its western end and is particularly popular with surfers when the tides are right.
