The fresh green coconuts are easily found on nearly every street here. With a whap of his machete, the coconut vendor will slice the bottom to allow it to easily sit on a table. With another couple of whacks, he'll cut open the top to let you sip the coconut water out of a straw. In a green coconut, the liquid is a cloudy looking water that, as Mike puts it, "tastes somewhere between water and coconut milk."
