We flew Kenya Airways on our red-eye flight from Amsterdam to Nairobi and upon entry into the aircraft, passengers are reminded of who awaits them in Kenya. The safari industry generates millions of dollars for the Kenyan economy each year. Since January's outbreak of post-election violence in Kenya, tourism has taken a sharp down-turn, pinching the pockets Kenyans who rely mostly on tourist dollars to survive.
