After only a couple of hours on the ground here it becomes clear that Nairobi's identity is largely defined by commerce. Visitors are not likely to be wooed by the area's architecture or arts scene, but the buzz of businessmen and women making their way to the office and the hustle and bustle of city residents at work is enjoyable to witness in itself. Sidewalks are crowded with suits and briefcases and traffic creeps through city streets with jaywalkers abound.
