Our adventures in Nairobi began with a slightly rocky start. We checked into (and then out of) one hotel after the hotel's owner tried to raise the price of our room from the initial quote that we had agreed upon. In search of a new hotel to crash in, we got in touch with our friend and local Kenyan, Benard Langat, a contact from a hometown friend of ours who had met Benard while living in Kenya in 2004. Benard guided us to Terminal Hotel, where he gave Thushan a breakdown of the local area while Mike crashed, exhausted and doubly jet-lagged from near back-to-back flights from New York to London and London to Nairobi.
