The arboretum is home to over 350 species of indigenous and foreign plants which serve as a safe haven for the families of Vervet monkeys who call the park home. Despite our attempts to attract these monkeys with our best monkey calls, we didn't encounter any until we left the park and encountered a family of Vervets hanging out near a local snack bar.
