Straight out of Route 66, The Tusks in Mombasa are one of the city's iconic sights, making it even onto the back of some denominations of currency.
We were told by a friend that the best Chinese food he's ever had in the world was right here in Mombasa. After a fruitless search with all of our bags for 45 minutes, we settled for Indian food (but does one ever really "settle" for curry - we think not) before jumping back on the train, this time to Voi to go on a safari where we hope to catch at a distance, the world renowned man eating lions of and Tsavo East National Park.
