On his head, this man is wearing a kufi, a common sight seen in the city. The Muslim prophet Mohammed is said to have covered his head at all times. In respect to that, many Muslims, both men and women, continue this tradition. The kufi however is not exclusive to Islam, and is in fact an African invention. In other parts of the continent, you're just as likely to see Christians donning the caps.
