Africa, and particularly Kenya's Rift Valley (not to far west of Nairobi), is thought of as the cradle of modern humans. Fossil evidence found in this region points to important evolutionary links between Homo sapiens and apes. This sculpture at the entrance of Nairobi National Museum makes reference to Africa's place as the epicenter of the birth of our species.

Our last day in Galle, we spent some quality time with Thushan's dad's side of the family.

Hiking to Lopes Mendes

We heard of a great beach on the other side of the island, so we took off into the forest, despite the discouraging clouds.
