With the advent of the European Union, lines between the different countries have steadily blurred. Jumping from one country to another is almost like going from state to state in the United States, but where everyone speaks a different language - and that's the point. Few border checks exist between nations, but if you do earn a stamp, more often than not, you'll receive this bland homogeneous one. We applaud the few holdouts like England, which, though in the EU, maintain their identity on things as small but important as passport stamps.
