Visiting a Holocaust Memorial

At the end of the war in 1945, Neuengamme became an internment camp for former Nazi officials and SS officers. Its name was changed to "Civil Internment Camp No. 6" and it housed some of the 320,000 Germans who were imprisoned after the war.
