The grandest of addresses in Venice, the Grand Canal is the main thoroughfare for the city. Smaller canals splinter off from here and go deep into the city, with some canals almost as narrow as the paths landlubbers use. For about 16 euros (about $25) you can buy a card that gives you unlimited access to the city's municipal ferry service that runs up and down the canal.
