05/20/2008 | Location: Beirut, Lebanon
We quickly fill out entrance documents at the border. After about a 30-minute wait and some questioning about the purpose of our visit, we were free to enter the beautiful land of Lebanon. For the next hour and half, our car wound its way through the mountains with the Mediterranean and Beirut awaiting us on the other side. The trip was slowed slightly by stops at a number of military checkpoints where our passports were checked by soldiers. For this leg of the trip, we kept the cameras low and the picture taking to a minimum to avoid any unnecessary complications with the Lebanese Army.
