Fleets of old Buick Skylarks and Chevorlet Caprice Classics and their drivers tenaciously compete to pick up valued passengers. On the morning of our trip, competition for business was particularly fierce with few opportunities to pick up passengers heading across the border since the recent spurt of violence in Lebanon. A dispute over which driver had rights to take us across escalated to a shouting match as Jared attempted to tactfully negotiate the situation.
