At first, we figured Thushan was just tired from the overnight bus travel, but as the day carried on and his napping continued we began to suspect that something else was up. Quickly, a fever and body aches commenced and the man that had so far resisted illness on the road finally fell victim to what appeared to be malaria, despite the preventative malaria meds we'd been taking.
