Taking a hired car 45 minutes out of the city, we arrived at one of the numerous rural villages that are emblematic not only for Rajasthan (it's India's largest state and borders Pakistan), but also India as a whole. Deep in the dry season, the semi-arid climate was definitely showing that the region was due for some rainfall.
