As we made our way up to the top of the fort, we passed this man who was given the painstaking task of scrubbing the fort's entire stone surface. Notice the before and after contrast of the cleaned section on the right with the unfinished section on the left. Tourism accounts for about eight percent of Rajasthan's economy and as tourism to the region continues to grow, the government has invested in restoring many of the state's historic landmarks.
