Though the laws may change, members of the gay and lesbian Indian community have a long way to go before becoming completely comfortable being open about their sexuality. Many of the marchers wore masks to cover their faces. Many said that if word got out that they were gay, they would almost certainly face being ostracized by their families and loose their jobs.
