From the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Rajpath or King's Way leads directly to India Gate (pictured here), a memorial which commemorates the fallen Indian soldiers of the first World War. With open parkland flanking both sides, the Rajpath is reminiscent of the Mall in Washington D.C. and is similarly used as a venue for important national ceremonies and processions.
