Situated along Kenya's Indian Ocean seaboard, Mombasa's prime location and calm waters made this island a much coveted city.

We heard of a great beach on the other side of the island, so we took off into the forest, despite the discouraging clouds.

On day two in Rome we headed to Vatican city to explore the grandest of Catholic churches, the Basilica of St. Peter.
