Just one sax takes weeks to build, but Mr.Dejprakune said he enjoys his work. The wooden saxophones retail for about $300 but need to be kept in humid climates to avoid warping. Mr. Dejprakune's horns sound OK but not spectacular, yet are considered a hot item among avid sax collectors.
